HUP: The drafting of the Decision on the annual quota for the employment of foreigners for 2018 is underway.
Yesterday, HUP called on its members to send the needs for foreign workers for 2018, given that preparations for the drafting of the Decision on the annual quota for employment of third-country nationals, in which process HUP is an active participant, will begin soon.Namely, the Aliens Act (OG 130/11, 74/13 and 69/17, hereinafter: the Act) regulates the stay and work of aliens in the Republic of Croatia, and Article 74, paragraph 1 of the Act stipulates that the Government of the Republic of Croatia determines the annual quota for employment of third-country nationals no later than 31 October of the current year for the following year for the renewal of already issued permits and new employment.The decision sets an annual quota for the employment of third-country nationals, which does not include nationals of EU Member States. Furthermore, the Decision is intended for the employment of third-country nationals with lower education (NKV and SSS), while for the employment of highly qualified workers from third countries, the institute of “EU Blue Card” is provided, regulated in Chapter XII. Of the Aliens Act, it is not necessary to register them in the quota for employment of aliens in accordance with (except in the case of transfer of persons within the company – Article 79.a of the Act).In 2017, 7.026 permits were issuedBy the decision on determining the annual quotas of permits for employment of foreigners for the calendar year 2017, it was determined that the total annual quota of permits for the employment of foreigners in the Republic of Croatia is 7.026 permits. Of the total quotas for tourism, the most requested are quotas, 60 of them for masseurs of special types of massages, chefs of national cuisine a total of 4 quotas, 30 for tourist animators as well as 30 quotas for tourist agents and five quotas for diving instructors.
