Fallout is Coming to Minecraft
Considering how popular both Fallout and Minecraft are, it’s surprising that an official crossover between the two franchises hasn’t happened before. Bethesda and Mojang are about to rectified this oversight soon, as Minecraft will be adding locations and characters from everyone’s favorite video game nuclear wasteland.“Working in the depths of their bunker complex, our artists and builders have been busy blasting Minecraft’s glorious overworld into an irradiated wasteland fit for Fallout fans to wander,” said Mojang in a recent blog post. “Friendly cows, gently sauteed in the light of a thousand suns, have now sprouted second heads, while the familiar supersized spiders have made way for other overgrown arachnids, who scuttle through the dark wielding brutal stingers.”The game will be adding locations like Tenpenny Tower and the Capital building. Since this is Fallout, each location will be littered with signature creatures from the series. There will be 44 character skins available to use as well. These include Fawkes, Nick Valentine, Tinker Tom, Paladin Cross, Jangles the Moon Monkey, and of course, the Vault Boy.Also, the game’s UI is being given a Fallout makeover, which is made to resemble the Pip-Boy 3000’s interface. You can also expect the add-on’s soundtrack to feature music lifted straight from the Fallout games. After all, if you’re going to be exploring this pixelated post-apocalyptic world, you need the right music to listen to.Expect this add-on to cost $5.99 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. This add-on is for the console edition of the game, and no word on when or if it is coming to PC has been given. We don’t have a release date for the add-on, but it should be relatively soon. Mojang stresses that bottle caps will not be an acceptable form of payment.
