Woman fatally injured in crash in Marion County Ore
A Newberg, Ore., woman was fatally injured Tuesday when she lost control of her small car and was hit on the driver side by a truck.Here is the full bulletin:News Release from: Marion Co. She was identified as Susan Ely, 67, of Newberg. The car suffered major damage. A representative from the Medical Examiner’s Office came to the scene to assist in the investigation.Wagner’s preliminary investigation revealed that Ely was traveling westbound on Olmstead Road near the intersection of Yergen Road when she lost control of her car and drove off the shoulder. In an attempt to recover, she overcorrected and drove back across the eastbound lanes and was struck on the driver’s side of her car by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado truck, traveling eastbound. Ely was trapped in her car and died at the scene. She was wearing her seatbelt, and her vehicle’s airbag did deploy.
