Marquinhos pays his respects after Flamengo fire tragedy

first_imgBrazilian defender Marquinhos has mourned the 10 people who tragically lost their lives in a fire at Flamengo’s training centre in Brazil.At 5:10 AM local time (8:10 AM CET) in Rio de Janeiro on Friday, a fire broke out at Flamengo’s Ninho do Urubu training base.The centre accommodated some of Flamengo’s youth players with firefighting chief Douglas Henaut confirming that the incident at the facility’s lodgings.10 people lost their lives due to the fire, while three teenagers were sent to the hospital in a serious condition.Now Marquinhos, who started out his career at Corinthians and now plays for Paris Saint-Germain in France, has paid his respects and admitted the events of the past 24 hours have taken him back to his own days as a youth player.“I think everyone in the world of football has woken up very sad today,” said Marquinhos, via beinSPORTS.“Because, like those boys, we went through the same moment some time ago.
