first_img PICTOU COUNTY: Joudrey Road The southern end of Joudrey Road, off Route 6 in Pictou West, isclosed to all traffic until further notice for bridgeinspections. A detour is available via Mountain Road or Louisville Road. Signsare posted indicating alternate routes. INVERNESS COUNTY: Grand Etang Bridge The Grand Etang Bridge, between Margaree and Cheticamp on theCabot Trail, will have a detour for heavy trucks until furthernotice. The detour is available on Pembrooke Lake Road andCarding Mill Road. The weight restrictions are posted and vary depending on thenumber of axles on the truck. HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101 Highway 101, between exits 3 and 4, near Ellershouse, will havelane closures for repaving until Saturday, July 31. Bothdirections of traffic will be affected intermittently. Trafficcontrol will consist of traffic control persons. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily. Motoristsare advised to use Trunk 2 between exits 3 and 4 to avoid thework zones. COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104 Highway 104 will have intermittent one-lane closures untilThursday, Sept. 30. The closures begin 800 metres west of Exit17, near Valley Cross Roads and extend 5.5 kilometres easterly tothe Manganese Mines Overpass. Traffic in eastbound lanes will beaffected and lane width will be reduced to 4.5 metres in the Exit17 area. Road crews will be carrying out repaving and structuremaintenance between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. daily. Traffic control will consist of signage. Motorists are asked touse extra caution while travelling in this area. CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Route 209 There will be one-lane closures on Route 209 from the Parrsborotown line to the Cumberland/Colchester County line until Friday,July 16. Road crews will be crack filling between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily.Traffic control will consist of traffic control persons. Road crews will becarrying out interchange improvements between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30p.m. daily. KINGS COUNTY: Highway 101 Overpass The Highway 101 overpass at Exit 14 at Coldbrook will have one-lane closures until Saturday, July 31. Closures will be in effect24 hours a day as road crews carry out bridge repairs. One lanewill be open at all times. Traffic control will consist oftraffic signals. LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103 There will be alternating lane closures on Highway 103 betweenExit 12 and the Northfield Overpass until Friday, July 23. Roadcrews will be carrying out repaving work between 6 a.m. and 9p.m. Traffic control will consist of a pilot vehicle, flashing lightunits, barrels and traffic cones. Realignment andrepaving work will be carried out from 6.7 kilometres west ofBreac Brook Bridge to the top of the hill in Middle Cape. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. A pilotvehicle will be used when necessary. Motorists can expect delays and are advised to use alternateroutes where possible. HANTS COUNTY: Elmsdale Bridge Elmsdale Bridge on Trunk 2 between Elmsdale and Lantz is closeduntil September 2004. A detour is available around the bridge.Traffic control consists of a detour sign. Traffic travelling in northbound laneswill be affected periodically while repaving is carried out. Workwill take place daily between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Section one begins 1.3 kilometres north of Commo Road, nearStewiacke, and stretches 5.3 kilometres to Shortts Lake RoadMultiplate, near Brookfield. Section two begins from the north side of Robie Structure, nearTruro, and stretches 3.4 kilometres to the intersection ofHighway 102 and Highway 104. Traffic control will consist of signage. Motorists are asked touse extra caution while driving in these areas. CONTINUING WORK CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Route 305 There will be occasional lane closures on Route 305 (SeaviewDrive) until Thursday, Sept. 30 while the Leitches Creek Bridgeis replaced. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. weekdays andtraffic control persons will be in place when necessary. HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 103 Blasting will take place on Highway 103, at exits 3 and 4,between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. until September 2004.
