Liberty University isin that category.Position TitleProfessor of Computer ScienceDoes this position require driving?NoContactContact Phone ExtContact EmailJob Summary/Basic FunctionLiberty seeks to hire a new faculty member to support the growth ofthe Cyber Security programs, to include Graduate and Undergraduate.Applications are encouraged for the ranks of Assistant, Associate,and Full Professor from well-qualified candidates with a PhD inComputer Science, an active research agenda related to cybersecurity, and experience in computer and network security.This position teaches in both the Master of Science in CyberSecurity program and the undergraduate Computer Science program.Duties include teaching Computer Science courses at 300, 400, 500,and 600 levels. These courses provide a wide range of computerscience topics including (but not limited to):-Introductory survey of computer science-Studies in information security-Principles of database management-Principles of software engineering-Programming languages (C, C++, and other languages to include webprogramming)-Studies of the basic science and mathematics that underpincomputer scienceDuties also include maintaining curriculum, courses of study, andassessment work. Faculty will participate in the process ofdefining graduate Cyber Security curriculum. In this capacity,faculty are expected to:-Assist in curriculum review and development-Develop laboratories to support computer science curriculum-Create projects designed to enhance lectures-Read and stay abreast of current topics in computer science-Develop syllabi and review textbooks for adoption-Propose and develop new courses as determined appropriate by thefaculty-Actively participate in and support SACS and ABET accreditationpreparation.Faculty members are required by the University to:-Teach contracted load-Maintain office hours-Mentor and advise students-Keep timely records of grades, grade papers, and perform otheradministrative duties as needed.Faculty member will perform other duties as assigned and activelyparticipate in University assemblies and activities.Minimum QualificationsThis position requires a terminal degree in the field of ComputerScience or a related technological discipline.Candidates must have experience in the field of computer andnetwork security, with preference given to candidates with industryexperience in this area.In addition to Cyber Security, candidates should have experience inone or more of the following areas: distributed systemsarchitecture, programming theory, advanced programming (diverselanguages), computer networking, software engineering, datastructures and algorithm, database technologies, and computerarchitecture.Applicants must demonstrate a personal faith commitment to theUniversity’s evangelical Christian purpose.Preferred QualificationsPreference will be given to candidates with SANS, GIAC, CEH andother industry security certifications accreditations.Additionally, knowledge of NSA / DHS National Center of AcademicExcellence in Information Assurance and Cyber Defense certificationprocess is highly desirable.
